What personal data we collect and why we collect it

DECA Environmental collects information through website traffic analytical tools, contact forms completed by visitors, and user information provided by the user.

We collect website traffic information to monitor the impact of our digital marketing efforts. We do not retain personal information through these tools.

We offer contact forms for visitors to request information from us about our services. See “Contact forms” below for more information on the data we collect and how we use it.

User information is collected when a visitor sets up an account to be able to comment on a blog post or we create a user as an author. The user information is stored on the website and is used for the purposes of adding content. We may also use the information to contact a user via the information they provide to follow up with comments. In that case, the information is stored in our private customer database.

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Media

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

Contact forms

DECA Environmental uses WPForms Lite which directs immediately to email and therefore does not collect entries on the website.
